Omaha dentist Dr. Amber Allen loves building relationships with children. She recommends that their first visit take place around the age of two years old.
We spend a lot of time during those first visits helping your child acclimate to the "big chair," our team, and the instruments we use. We will explain everything we're doing, and won't move forward with any type of procedure unless your child feels completely comfortable.
Children should also see the dentist every 6 months, just like adults, to monitor their oral development. This allows us to make parents aware of any concerns that may be developing and helps us set your child up for success in the future.
As your child gets older, additional services such as dental sealants may be recommended in order to protect their teeth from decay and cavities. Sealants are thin protective coatings placed over the chewing surfaces of your child's molars. They're hardly noticeable and non-invasive. They can also be completed quickly, during just one appointment at our office.
If you have questions about caring for your child's baby teeth or oral health, contact our office today. Dr. Allen is always at your disposal, and she loves educating patients about their oral health.
