Invisalign and Single Tooth Deep Bleaching
Severely rotated teeth are very treatable with Invisalign orthodontic alignment. Straightening the teeth also improves gum tissue health, and in this patient improved her "bite". Internally bleaching her front tooth brought it up to the shade of her other teeth to give her a pretty smile.
The old dental bridge (made with a metal base) on the upper front teeth was removed, then replaced with a new one that did not display metal and filled the space of the missing tooth. The new porcelain bridge also showed more tooth length and appearance in this patient’s smile.
The first step was correction of the tight teeth spacing (“bite”) in the front teeth with four months of Invisalign aligner wear. This allowed space within the bite to recontour the front four top teeth back to their original length, which was accomplished in a single appointment with composite resin material.
Years of nocturnal tooth grinding, tooth drifting and discoloration prompted this patient to seek an aesthetic change. Porcelain veneers and crowns on his front and side teeth put "new enamel" over worn surfaces, which gives his teeth longevity and also looks much more pleasing in the frame of his smile
The previous porcelain was removed and new longer, whiter, more slender porcelain was placed across the front eight top teeth. “One size fits all” does not work with ideal aesthetic dentistry. Consideration of the patient’s face, amount of tooth display and lip position is communicated with the dental laboratory when making the veneers for optimal cosmetic results.
Dental crowding leads to an increased incidence of gum disease and tooth decay. Clear Invisalign aligners, worn all day and night and switched every two weeks, gradually straighten crowded teeth into a healthy teeth alignment (“bite”), even when the crowding is severe as it is in this case. Teeth whitening gel may also be placed inside the aligners at any time to lighten the tooth color.
After correcting uneven gum tissue levels upper front teeth, porcelain crowns were placed on the upper teeth to rebuild tooth height that had worn away, get a brighter but natural tooth color, and also to close the space between the two front teeth that this patient had disliked for years. Her daughter reports that she smiles "all the time" now.
The upper front eight teeth were shaped and resurfaced with a mixture of porcelain crowns and veneers that provided improved tooth proportions, as well as contours that established healthy teeth alignment to help minimize further tooth wear in the future.

Fortunately we are a small dental practice and do not have a high volume of traffic. We do not see as many patients a day as larger dental offices. For your safety and comfort will be taking the following measures:
All waiting, check-out, and restroom areas will be cleaned with disinfectant multiple times a day.
Clinical staff will be wearing N-95 surgical masks as well as plastic face shields to protect from airborne particles and liquid contamination.
Staff will only be allowed to work if they have a clean bill of health for communicative diseases.
Spacing our appointment times to reduce patient overlap.
We have added two more Aerosol Vacuums to our arsenal that hygienists will now use during teeth cleaning visits. We are one of few dental practices that have already been using this technology. These Aerosol Vacuums are air-filtering machines with an internal HEPA filter that captures 99.9% of particles down to .3 micron including viruses & bacteria, biological aerosols, and moisture droplets for a safer breathing environment.
Ultimately we want to protect our patients and our staff while providing dental care in the safest environment possible. We believe that with these precautions and infection protocols in place that we can continue to achieve the highest standard of care. Thank you and as always we are happy to answer any further questions you may have.

P.S. You may have already seen our Aerosol Vacuums in practice during a previous visit. If not here is an interesting video showing how it works.
